Care advice for sex toys

Cleaning

Before and after each use, your toys should be thoroughly cleaned. In order to get as good and hygienic a result as possible, this should be done with disinfecting cleaning agents for sex toys.

Start by rinsing the product thoroughly in lukewarm water or wiping it with a cloth. Spray or spread the cleaner over the entire surface and then wipe with a dry cloth. It is important that you let the product dry completely before storing it.

When cleaning, you should always remove any batteries from your toys, so that they are not destroyed or cause damage to the toy. Should water or moisture get into the battery compartment, remove the cover and let it air dry.

Storage

Store your sex toys in a cool, dark and dry place. As some materials can react chemically with each other, always store your toys separately from each other to avoid damage or discoloration. See our sex toy storage product category for tips and inspiration.

Avoid exposing your product to high temperatures and direct sunlight as this can also shorten its lifespan.

Specific materials

Silicone

Products made of silicone and softer materials should only be used together with water-based lubricant. This is because silicone-based lubricant can dissolve the product's material.

Skin imitation

Skin-imitating materials, such as Fanta Flesh and SuperSkin, and feel best in the long run if you talc them after cleaning. Let the toy dry completely and then sprinkle on some talc/powder. It increases the lifespan and makes the material stay hygienic and fresh.

Electronics and batteries

Always remove the batteries from your toys when not in use. Most products "steal" batteries when not in use, which is completely normal. By removing the batteries, you also prevent the risk of older batteries starting to leak.

Sex toys that contain electronics are just as sensitive to knocks and shocks as e.g. your mobile phone, tablet or computer. Therefore, be as careful with your sex toys as you are with all other electronics in the home.

Should your vibrator become hot after prolonged use, you should switch it off and let it rest for a while, or alternatively lower the speed so it doesn't have to work so hard.
